An official statement issued today by her fiance, actor Ben Affleck, acknowledged that the 16 words in question were “erroneous” and created a “misleading impression that Jennifer has miraculously remained unaffected by her massive wealth and fame.”
The statement said that the words in question– “Don’t be fooled by the rocks I got/I’m still, I’m still Jenny from the block” –would be excised from all future editions of the song. “To all those who were led to believe that she is still Jenny from the block, Jennifer offers her sincerest apologies,” Affleck said in his statement. “She is not now, nor does she foresee herself becoming in the future, Jenny from the block.”
According to Affleck, professional songwriters are currently scrambling to write sixteen replacement words to reflect the reality of Lopez’s present situation, that of an outrageously wealthy and pampered superstar who spends little or no time on “the block.”
In another revelation, Affleck disclosed that he had continued to slash Lopez’s unwieldy payroll, this week firing her dentist, her plumber, and the lady who waters her plants every Monday and Thursday. Affleck also indicated that he was terminating Ms. Lopez’s “Friends and Family” long-distance calling plan, which he deemed no longer necessary after the firing last week of all her friends and family.
