Usually, GameStop is known for its deals on pre-owned games, and many might expect those to be the cheapest. Sorting through all the DLC add-ons and in-game currency sold at GameStop, there are a lot of pre-owned games that can be found for under a dollar. Standouts include Batman: Arkham City for the Xbox 360 and God of War 3 for the PS3—both are only $0.99 USD. However, as cheap as these games are, there are even cheaper new games to found lurking at the very bottom of the database.

Doom Eternal—PC

As GameStop seeks to clear out inventory in anticipation of the wave of upcoming games in the new year, a couple of big titles from the past couple of years have a massive clearance discount. The first of these games is Doom Eternal—one of 2020’s best releases. Surprisingly, the PC version of the game is currently priced at only $0.50 USD. For such a huge AAA game to be priced so low is almost unheard of. Unfortunately, it seems like many caught on to the deal pretty quickly because it’s currently out of stock. Since boxed versions of PC games are hard to come by, it’s likely that the window to capitalize on this deal is over.

Doom 3 VR—PS4

Another game with the $0.50 price tag is Doom 3 VR for PS4. Originally released in 2004, Doom 3: BFG Edition received a remaster in 2019 and later VR upgrade in 2021 which featured the entirety of the original game playable in VR. However, its mixed reviews seem to have hurt sales given that a year after release a new, physical copy of the game is retailing for $0.50. While it appears to be unavailable online, those who are eager to grab this deal might have luck finding it in person at their local GameStop store.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Rise of the Owlverlord—PC

It would be pretty hard to guess the two cheapest games in GameStop’s database without any prior knowledge as the games mentioned so far are a pretty well-known bunch. As far as lesser-known titles go, coming in priced at $0.49 is a digital PC code for Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Rise of the Owlverlord. Released in 2013, this sequel to the action platformer indie title Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams by developer Black Forest Games has relatively positive reviews. Despite the positive reviews, it’s a somewhat niche game from nearly 10 years ago which makes its price tag understandable.

PUBG: Battlegrounds Game Preview Edition—Xbox One

The overall cheapest game currently in GameStop’s database is PUBG: Battlegrounds Game Preview Edition for Xbox One priced at $0.48 USD. This version of the game launched for Xbox One while the game was still in early access on PC in 2017. This edition granted players access to the game while it was still in development and offered access to the full game upon release with some additional goodies thrown in. With PUGB: Battlegrounds going free-to-play this year, it’s no wonder this edition is priced so low. It’s also out of stock currently, so those wanting to pick it up for the sake of collecting might be out of luck.
